HEIRLOOM ENGLISH TUDOR

PRIMARY BEDROOM

This family home is an English Tudor home in built in 1928 in Mountain Brook, Alabama. Our goal in this project was to honor the history and capture the essence of the home through a mix of antiques, repurposed furniture, and new pieces to become heirlooms.

The homeowner had not yet gotten around to focusing on their bedroom after they moved in 13 years ago. They decided to move forward after having their heart set on the poster bed we had made, which became the anchor for the design.

This client wanted the space to feel like a bold and bright mix of part Cotswold-inspired hotel room, part modern interpretation of something you would find in Jane Eyre. We leaned into the home’s architecture, adding depth with a darker slate blue trim to highlight the details.
